Virginia (Brown) Davidson

July 9, 1930 ~ September 5, 2018 (age 88)

Mrs. Virginia Brown Davidson was born on July 9, 1930 in Gastonia, NC and departed this life on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Hospital. Virginia, affectionally known by many as Momma Gin, Ms. Virginia, and Grandma was the daughter of the late Jasper Brown and Alice Lee Anderson Brown.  She attended Gaston County Schools. Prior to her retirement she worked as a baker and in the textile industry. Virginia was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and attended worship services at the Catherin Booth Apartments. Virginia was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, residents at Catherine Booth Apartments, Kimbrell’s Furniture Store and for many friends throughout the community.  Her mission was that no one should ever go hungry and she always maintained freezers full of food for anyone in need.  She was the type of person that would go the extra mile for the ones that she loved.  Virginia loved deeply and even in her declining health would be willing to jump in the fight for one’s defense.

In addition to her mother, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband William A. Brown, brothers, Eugene “Baby Gene” Brown, Grover Anderson, Harvey Pryor and sisters Betty B. Henderson and Diselder B. Cornelieus (Ron). Virginia leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Tammy D. Sims (Samuel “Eric”), sons, Jeffery L. Davidson (Sonya) and Richard A. Davidson; sisters, Billie L. Ragsdale, Curlene Clinton Jones (Thomas) and Dwelder Praylor (Alfred); grandchildren, Jordan (Ahini), Isiah, Samuel Jr. “Eric” (Katlin), Allison (Halee), a Kameron, Jaelyn, Aaron and Andre; six great grandchildren; a host of God daughters and sons, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends including all of the special ones at Catherine Booth Apartments.

Special thanks to Catherine Booth Apartment staff especially Dana and Debbie; her current caregiver, Donna and her past care takers, Dr. C. Pantea and staff and the House of Rosedale for their kindness.
