Johnny Marshall Lowery

December 2, 1943 ~ September 11, 2018 (age 74)

Mr. Johnny Marshall Lowery, affectionately known as “Jag” was born December 2, 1943 to the late Janie Givens Lowery and the late Willie Lowery, Sr in the city of York, South Carolina. He transitioned from earth to glory on September 11, 2018 at Country Time Nursing Home of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. “JAG” received his early education from Roosevelt School in Clover, South Carolina. He continued his education at Highland High School in Gastonia, North Carolina. Johnny was a hard worker. He worked in the construction industry prior to his last employment with Firestone Industrial Plant in Gastonia, North Carolina. Johnny was loved by his family. He was one to speak his mind with no hesitations. He always made you laugh; had plenty of jokes, and he never met a stranger.

“JAG” was proceeded in death by a son Wayne Lowery; brothers, Willie Lowery, Jr and Tommy Lee Lowery; and former wife, Joyce Fewell Lowery. Those left to celebrate his life and memory are: sons, Eric Lowery and Cedric Lower both of Gastonia, North Carolina; sister, Mary Lowery Kendrick Woodard (Allen) of Gastonia, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Faye Lowery and Garnell W. Lowery both of Gastonia, North Carolina; Aunts, Frances Meeks and Barbara Jean Benjamin both of Rock Hill, South Carolina; Uncle, Mason Lowery of Baltimore, Maryland; Special Nieces, Tiffany Lowery, Tawanna Kendrick, Marion “Tweet” James (Quanta) and Brooke Moore all of Gastonia, North Carolina; Special Nephew, Ryan Kendrick of Charlotte, North Carolina; Special Cousin, Larry Wilform of York, South Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
